Cricut Back to School Projects

Can you believe that August is already here!  Where has the summer gone?  Well, we have been doing our school shopping, and I have picked up a few "extra" supplies for my craft room.  I have found a lot of great Cricut back to school projects and thought I would share them with you.  But first, I wanted to share with you some altered clipboards that I made a couple of years ago for my sons' teachers:

Cricut Christmas Crafts - Altered Clipboards
If you read my blog way back in 2009, you may remember these, but if not, click here to find out how I made them. (hint: The secret ingredient is mod podge!)

Anyway, I spent a little time on my computer, and found some really great projects.

Cricut Back to School Project Ideas

Back To School Personalized Binders

Kendra at Mixology Crafts made personalized binders with her oldest daughter.  She used the binders with the clear covers that allow you to insert your own pictures and artwork.  I have been thinking this would be a fun project for a long time, and seeing her binders may have just given me the extra nudge I need to make my own!  This project is so easy too that I'm sure my kiddos wouldn't mind rolling up their sleeves and helping!

Vinyl Lunch Bag Embellishment

Michelle at delicateConstruction personalized a plain lunch bag with Cricut vinyl for her daughter Avery.  She purchased the bag at Target for under $3.00, and used the Cindy Loo Cricut cartridge to add a cute little squirrel and deer forest doily. You have to see it!

Altered Composition Notebooks

The Cricut Blog has a great tutorial showing how to make altered composition notebooks.  Like my clipboard project above, you will need a jar of mod podge, but I love how these turned out.  Heck, forget back to school - I'm thinking Christmas for the nieces and nephews!  This is a great time of year to get composition notebooks too - you can pick them up most anywhere for next to nothing!

Back To School Pencil Holder

Here's another vinyl project - this time altering a glass pencil holder.  Priti used the Rock Princess cartridge to dress up this bland pencil container.  Her project puts the fun into homework time, don't you think!

Well, that wraps up my list for today.  Of course, if you have any ideas to add, we would love to hear them.  Just leave a comment below...
